Inc. Magazine Names Concerro One of America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies in 2009

San Diego-based Concerro, Inc., the market leader in enterprise-wide hospital shift and disaster workforce management software today announced that it ranked 554th in Inc. Magazine’s 28th annual Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. The company ranked No. 33 in the Top 100 Software Companies, and No. 15 in the Top 50 Businesses in San Diego-Carlsbad-San Marcos, CA. The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy — America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs.

“We are honored to be part of the Inc. 5000 ranking for the second consecutive year,” stated Graham Barnes, CEO of Concerro. “This consistent ranking recognizes our dedication to providing cost-effective workforce management and disaster response solutions to the healthcare industry and underscores the hard work of our employees, loyalty of our customers, and continued value of our products.”

Concerro was the first company to manage shifts online with incentives for effective nurse staffing in hospitals. The company offers technology and services that facilitate flexible workforce management and collaborative scheduling in healthcare by improving shift visibility and access, aligning organization and workforce needs, offering structure and options for incentive management and providing operational efficiencies through automation.

Recently the company acquired CommandAware™, the leading automated incident command system (ICS) for hospital disaster preparedness and response. CommandAware was the first fully NIMS and HICS-4 compliant system and is now operational in over 200 hospitals.

The programs are delivered through Concerro’s Cloud Computing (SaaS) model which provides 24/7 anywhere, anytime access via the Internet with no capital investment or initial payment. Concerro also sponsors IdeaConnect 2.0, an online community to help people in healthcare connect and collaborate, share experiences, highlight best practices, and discuss key industry issues.

“Savvy trend spotters and those who invest in private companies know that the Inc. 5000 is the best place to find out about young companies that are achieving success through a wide variety of unprecedented business models, as well as older private companies that are still expanding at an impressive rate,” said Inc. 5000 project manager Jim Melloan. “That’s why our list is so eagerly anticipated every year.”

The 2009 Inc. 5000 serves as a unique report card on the U.S. economy. Despite the ongoing recession, aggregate revenue among the companies on the list actually increased to $214 billion, up $29 billion from last year, with a median three-year growth rate of 126 percent. The Inc. 5000 are responsible for creating more than 1 million jobs since their founding, making the list perhaps the best example of the impact private, fast-growing companies can have on the economy.
