Former eBay SVP Rob Chesnut to Oversee Legal and Government Relations

SANTA CLARA, Calif. , July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- LiveOps today announced the appointment of Rob Chesnut as General Counsel. Reporting to LiveOps CEO Maynard Webb, he is responsible for overseeing legal and government relations. Chesnut joins the LiveOps team now that Joe Eandi, LiveOps' previous General Counsel, takes over responsibility for the company's industry-leading independent agent community.

"Rob Chesnut brings a wealth of experience to LiveOps, including corporate law, litigation, intellectual property and government compliance," said Maynard Webb, chairman and CEO of LiveOps. "His experience running eBay's Trust and Safety division at the height of commerce expansion will be an invaluable asset for LiveOps' continued success as we look to revolutionize the world of work."

As former SVP for eBay's Rules, Trust and Safety, Chesnut ran a global organization of 2,000 employees and oversaw the development of eBay's industry-leading proactive fraud detection infrastructure which reduced reported fraud and counterfeiting activity nearly 60% over a six-year period. In addition, Chesnut developed eBay's rule and site conduct structure for all sites worldwide, including eBay's feedback system which is considered the leading reputation system on the Internet today. Prior to Rules, Trust and Safety, Chesnut led North American legal affairs and compliance for eBay.

"It is an incredible time to join LiveOps, a company that is bringing innovation to the way business and people work," said Chesnut. "The company - with its cloud computing and cloudsourcing solutions - is breaking new ground for the enterprise customer and freelancer community. I am excited to be part of the LiveOps team."

Chesnut joins LiveOps' seasoned management team which represents the best thought leaders in the industry from companies including eBay, Genesys, Netscape, salesforce.com, Siebel and Yahoo!.

Prior to eBay, Chesnut spent 15 years as a federal prosecutor for the U.S. Justice Department. He has an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and a JD from Harvard Law School.
